This site is a tribute to Max Bavin, who was born in Wigan on April 03, 1954. He is much loved and will always be remembered. Max had one son, Ben and remained married although separated to Roz. Max and Mum remained good friends throughout despite being separated. Max passed away of natural causes(Left Ventricular Hypertrophy and Ischaemic Heart Disease) It was over very quickly and he wasnt not in any pain. Max was a keen sports enthusiast, particularly Football and Cricket. He avidly followed Manchester United and enjoyed winding up followers of other football clubs whenever Manchester United were beating them, but went very quiet when they where not doing so well. Along with Sports Dad had a real passion for "rock and roll" music, the likes of Guns and Roses, ACDC, Lynard Skynard, Captain Beefheart or Anything that could be found on his "Air Guitar" CD collections. On any given day dad could normally be found in the Horse and Jockey across the road from where he lived, where he had built up a fantastic community of friends that considered him as part of the second family there. Along with his second Family at the Horse and Jockey, his rock and roll music and Manchester united, Dads biggest lifelong passion came from the card game Bridge. Max spent most of his career working in Aylesbury at the English Bridge Union as Chief Tournament Director and worldwide as the Chief Tournament Director for the World Bridge Federation. He also played a very active role in developing the laws of bridge and will very much live on in the game and the bridge community.
