I first met Max at my first TD seminar. The 'panel' was Harold Franklyn, Jim Proctor, Gratton and Max. I was wetting myself.

Eventually I got my blazer and had the pleasure of working with him on several occasions. He seemed to be able to keep an inordinate number of balls in the air, and dealing with all manner of people and situations.

In the ranked masters one year I had dimly lit room and the guy who had the one sitting seat kept complaning that he couldn't see and was going to go home. I wandered off inform MB, not expecting a great deal. A while later he appeared with a hotel staff member and a HUGE light from the stage which was wired in and fired up on the floor.

Condolences to the family, a great loss to the game.
